Every single belly painting that I am trusted to create is so special to me. They each come accompanied with a very personal story, and sometimes a very personal journey of growth.
And so, when I listened to Mel talk about her battle to overcome some tough obstacles along with her desire to recreate herself into the best and healthiest version of herself for the sake of her baby girl, I knew that I wanted to create a piece that would evoke feelings of beautiful transformation, hope, and peace.
Mel, for you I pray for strength and clarity, peace and health, love and light. Cherish your precious blessing and new beginning.

One thing I think that most, if not all, artists pride their selves on is being able to create and offer art that is unique, custom, and one-of-a-kind. And so, one of the very first things I do after I book a maternity art session is get to know my clients on a personal level.
What are their likes? Dislikes? Do they have a unique hobby? Obsession? What about life makes them excited to live it? For April, what made her most happy was her husband, Robert. For this beautiful mother-to-be it was all about surprising daddy-to-be with something fun and unforgettable! When April told me that her husband was a HUGE Star Wars fan and that baby was going to be the first girl in her husband’s lineage in 97 long years I knew that I had to paint none other than THE rebel princess herself. Albeit in an ultra cute and adorable fashion. (I don’t always paint in an ultra-cute fashion, but if I see the opportunity I’m going to take it!)
April and Robert, blessings to you both as you prepare to welcome your sweet rebel princess into the world. It was such a joy and honor to have the privilege to create this sweet artwork to commemorate a most magical time in your lives.
